Many dog owners don’t like the look of dog crates that resemble a dog prison, because they don’t always fit into the house interior. That’s why you can look at dog crates that look like furniture. They’re also a good option to save space in small apartments.
Please note. The above boxes aren't suitable for anxious dogs that tend to escape. In those cases, you should look for an indestructible crate, not a wooden one.

RICHELL WOODEN END TABLE CRATE
Who it's suitable for: dogs of all sizes who like more enclosed, secluded areas. Definitely not for anxious chewing dogs.
One common disadvantage of dog crates that look like furniture is flimsy construction. However, the Richell wooden crate stands out for its solidity and high-quality materials. That’s why it’s stable. And that’s why I included it in my list.
I like that the door can be fully opened and fixed to the side. This option is rare, but it is so necessary. This way your dog can get in and out safely and the door won’t get in the way.
There are 3 sizes to choose from.
Who it's good for: those who are looking for a spacious crate with a large lid, where you can store a lot of things. Suitable for small to medium sized dogs (26 to 40 pounds).
This gorgeous crate is the work of Chewy. I love every detail about it, especially the sliding doors, that help save space. Often owners like to leave the crate door open, and it sticks out in the middle of the room and gets in the way. A sliding door solves this problem.
Also, I’m glad Chewy offers free shipping because otherwise it would have cost a lot.
Dimensions: 55.5 x 24.5 x 30 inches.
Best Wooden Portable Foldable Pet Crate
Who it's good for: Those who need a collapsible crate that can be carried or stored in the closet. It will also be loved by those who favor natural materials.
Nowadays it’s so hard to find quality products made from natural materials. That’s why I couldn’t help but mention the Lovupet cage in this review.
Also, it’s foldable, and I have not yet seen such a feature among dog crate furniture.
PawHut Wooden Dog Kennel
Who it's for: For anyone looking for a crate with an extra storage box or a crate that can be used as a TV stand. Suitable for small pets up to 33 lbs.
Although this crate has few reviews, I’m going to risk adding it to my list because I haven’t found the typical wooden dog crates with an enclosed cabinet. However, PawHut is a company that specializes in pet supplies, so I think you can trust them.
Such a large kennel can be used as a TV stand.
Dimensions: 38.5″L x 19″W x 27.75″H
Furniture Dog Crate for Small Dogs
Who it's good for: Those looking for a small, compact crate for a small dog or puppy.
Owners of small dogs may like this crate end table, that you can place in the bedroom, next to the bed. Dogs tend to sleep more peacefully near their owners, so it would work well for crate training.
ZSQ Furniture Style Dog Crate on wheels
Who it's right for: small dog owners who like premium quality products.
You can use this classic style crate as a coffee table, nightstand or console in the living room, office, or bedroom. It is the only option with wheels. Manufacturers position their product as a premium product, so the price is slightly above average.
Best Dog Crate Furniture for Large Dogs
Who it's good for: for owners of a large dog and for those who have a preference for durable materials.
I decided to pick up a furniture-style dog crate for large dogs, and my choice fell on a crate from Snimoy. It has a sturdy and reliable construction that provides durability and safety.
It has a lot of good reviews. And I liked the design. The wood and metal style would fit almost any interior.
FEANDREA Wooden Dog Crate
Tip: put a bed in the crate to keep your dog comfortable. You can find the best chew-proof crate pad in my article.
Beautiful Furniture Style Dog Crate
Who it's good for: for owners of medium- and small-sized dogs who have already been cage-trained.
It is a beautiful, stylish dog crate table suitable for medium to large dogs. Unipaws offers 2 colors to choose from – espresso and white. I like that there are lots of good reviews.
Furniture Corner Dog Crate with Cushion
Who it is suitable for: for those who have little space for a crate, but have a free corner; or those who do not like crates with bars.
Using a corner crate can help save space in the room. I think it is very practical.
SINGLE DOOR CENTERED KENNEL
Who it's good for: for lovers of homemade products. Perhaps this crate is even suitable for anxious dogs.
LUCKY KENNELS is a small company that makes kraft crates for dogs. These crates are assembled by hand and are of high quality and attractive design. You can tell right away that this is no ordinary dog crate from the store. They’re made of solid wood, sturdy metal hardware, and thick bars that prevent your dog from breaking out.
The manufacturer offers a large palette of colors. You can choose between 4 sizes for dogs from 30 to 90 pounds.
But such products have their disadvantages: you have to wait a long time for their production, it is expensive, plus you have to pay a lot for shipping.
DOUBLE Furniture crate
Who it's good for: for lovers of homemade products. For those whose dog likes to chew on the bars (these bars are not easily spoiled).
Another crate from Lucky Kennels. It’s still just as beautiful and reliable. If you, like me, appreciate handmade goods, then you will love it.
This is one of the few decent furniture crate options for two dogs.
Original round crate table
Who it's suitable for: for those who don't like corners and grids, but prefer an unusual design.
At the end of my list of the best furniture style crates, I found this original, hexagonal crate here. I definitely like this antique style, and I also like a door that hinges completely backwards so it won’t interfere with me in the aisle.

What crate is better not to buy
At this point I’ve decided to create a crates blacklist. I see that other sites recommend these products as “best”, but it seems that these reviews are written by people who just want to make money. They don’t try to figure out which product they’re recommending.
So, with the examples of this blacklist, you can figure out which crates you better not buy.
ECOFLEX Dog Crate
Why it’s on the list:
- made of poor-quality material that breaks down easily. Besides, it’s not wood, it’s plastic;
- the bars can be easily broken off, so the dogs can get out of the crate within minutes;
- often the product comes with damage, scratches or other defects.
And yet the ECOFLEX crate costs $150-$200! If it only cost $50-70, I’d recommend it as the cheapest option for a while. But it’s a shame to waste a lot of money on an inferior product…
Megidok Wooden Dog Crate
Why it’s on the list:
- although there are no reviews for this product, I can already predict what customers will complain about: the lack of a bottom. I don’t know what the manufacturers were thinking, but there is just a tray on the floor instead of a bottom. And this is supposed to be comfortable for my pet?
I really liked the design of the Megidok crate; it is very stylish. Why can’t pet product manufacturers make something really modern and high quality? =(
Important! Most dog crates that look like furniture are made of wood. So they are not suitable for dogs who like to chew everything. Wire crates with thin bars are also not suitable in this case. If you have a chewer dog, then look for indestructible dog crates.
Have a great shopping experience! Please write your feedback here; it’s very important.
